I thought I would be able to knock off the viewing of a meteor shower a couple weeks ago when the Leonid meteor shower occurred, but due to the foggy skies, did not.  I sat on my car outside my apartment for roughly 20 minutes, starting a little after 4am and only saw fog.  I heard similar stories from my friends in the area, though I also heard a couple people say things were a little viewable around 4:30.  bah, that was pretty much when I gave up and went inside.  Murphey's Law anyone?

anyone know when the next viewable meteor shower for the tidewater region of Virginia is?

scratched some items that I realized probably will never happen for one reason or another.

I went to a small Mary Kay party at my friend Kristina's a few weeks ago, getting a better idea how to do make up. perhaps I'll test myself in the near future, see if I know enough to cross it off my list.

For the simple car maintenance, I know how to check and fill my oil, how to fill a couple other things under the hood, how to check my tire pressure. I am going to try to get my dad to teach me how change a tire and perhaps I can cross this one off.

I decided that instead of saving for a DSLR, I am going to go the route of getting a used one first. afterall, I am a noob at the stuff, and a used one would be the better way to go.

I know what I am going to do for an art piece/college. I often find myself writing single lines from songs in my journal and I like how it looks since I'll rotate the page. my idea is to get a canvas and decent writing instrument and make a better version of my paper and pencil one.

I've determined one seriously possibility for post-graduation. I am currently doing an internship (aka basic volunteer with a different title on the paperwork) and am really enjoying it. the first possibility is thus working at a Boys and Girls club or YMCA or something like it. huzzah!

I wonder if there's any gymnastics classes for adults in this area. that would be very helpful with at least four items...

birthday fun

so, for a birthday celebration, my friends Megan and Crystal took me to the zoo and then to Merle Norman to learn how to properly put on make-up before taking me out to Olive Garden for dinner, where I was surprised to find other friends there. it was very enjoyable ^_^ I have a feeling though that I better refresh myself on the makeup techniques before I officially cross it off the list.

the other day, upon getting herself into a sticky situation, a friend had her roommate teach her a simple self-defense move. I learned it as well, simply because I was there. one down, four to go!

PICTURE "Gramps" the meercat, as we called him, at the zoo

might be doing some revisions soon, things feel messy.

Amongst the simple car maintenance, I spaced and forgot that my dad taught me how to refill my oil when I was home in August. I've known how to actually check the oil since I got my first car in 2005 (my dad ingrained in my head). Amongst other simple car maintenance things, I include learning how to change a tire, because my luck will have it I'll get a flat tire eventually.

my mind feels like mush. I keep meaning to look at this little book I have that has tips for being environmentally friendly, but never remember at decent times (like now)

Amongst the things I hope to accomplish from the list within the next two weeks include, but are not limited to, determining one or two post-graduation ideas, the seasonal stuff (clothing, email/online accounts) and start writing the list of things that make me happy. all (except maybe the post-graduation) should be relatively simple if I put my mind to it.

Currently, 95% of my electronic copies of photos are on a dead external hard drive. my dad's friend is letting the drive sit around while he waits to come across a circuit board to revive it. until he gets that, the drive and all the photos (as well as everything else) on it are non-accessible. thus, that makes sorting them near impossible.

so I stopped the P365 in April after getting uber behind on it, I plan on starting up again this January.

I've been pretty good about going through/to goodwill with clothing, as well as keeping online accounts I never used closed and even started the list of assigning websites to emails!

I actually have a little book that should teach me some going green tips, just need to remember to put them to use!

I've actually made very good progress in learning to walk in high heels. nothing too high, I'd have to measure but my guess is one inch. I tried something higher when I went to Captain's Ball but ended up being in more pain than I thought was worth.

This week was the start of hopefully my last semester of undergraduate. still some stuff in pending mode, and I'm not going to say it's definitely my last semester until the grades are up in December. rather not speak too soon knowing my track record.

The other day, I came across a firefox add-on called leechblock - basically, I tell it what websites it should block and when and it does the rest. it's simply amazing, and cutting my time down on my known distractions big time - I limit myself to the them 90 minutes a day. once I hit the 90 minutes, it takes me to another webpage, I told it to take me to cnu.edu - the reminder of "hey, schoolwork!"

I've actually seen a lot of movies recently, part in due to my roommate watches a lot and I tend to sit in. woo for expanding my list of seen movies!

Soooo, PostSecret comes to my campus tomorrow evening, let's see if I can make something to submit! as silly as this sounds, how do I make a postcard?

I keep forgetting to update =\

I am doing Project 365. However, I am behind on uploading photos by like a month. photos are being taken though!

Go to the Captains Ball- I can now say I don't regret missing all those dances in high school. The hype is overplayed. I went, looked nice and came out alive.

I've done some other stuff partly. Will try to get myself to do more. Though I'll probably have to do another revision. *sigh*

I have an appointment to get my hearing checked next Thursday. I'll be surprised if I don't get told I need hearing aides of some sort. My grandparents have better hearing than me! How embarrassing.

I've started Project 365, I'll post the link with the photos as soon as I empty the photos off my camera and onto the website.

I did end up reading my revised goal of 25 books, sorta. I started the one book Dec 30th and finished it Jan 3. But I'm counting it, damnit!

I realize I need to do some editing to the list on the sidebar, primarily dealing with repetitive events (ie: reading books, 25/25). I've revised my list twice in the last couple months and didn't seem to remember to fix those things. eh...

nothing much else that I can think of. oh well.

UPDATE
it's official, my grandparents have better hearing

now for an update

I'm looking over what still remains (most of it, I removed less than ten) and what is supposed to be done in certain time frames. The book one comes to mind first. I have read twenty books excluding textbooks since I started this back in July. I've started a good amount of books that then I got distracted from because of school work and the whatnot. I'm basically hoping to hit twenty five books within the next week and a half and I'll be happy.

I have bought my ticket for Captain's Ball. now unless I wimp out, I've been locked into going. I'm trying to maintain myself with this. I have my reasons for being a little hesitant...

I am hoping to cross off the write 101 things that make me happy over the break. It will really come down to me sitting down and working on it. I have some sources that I can browse for ideas if I run into a jam.

I am hoping to at least start on the list of things about my friends that I cherish in them. Is it bad that I'm worried about even coming up with fifty unique things? I am usually at lack of words to find what I mean and I'm nervous that what I write will be the same ten things in different words. Well, I guess I won't know for sure until I take a crack at it.

Suggestions to fill those holes on my list are always welcome!

Revision galore!

I hacked quite a few items sadly. the things that had good intentions but got put on the back burner too often.

Now that I've hacked things, I need to add some new ones to replace them. Ideas welcomed!

I tried going a week with only going on facebook and myspace only thirty minutes a day. Bad timing messed that up. I had a group project and our primary source of coordinating things for it was facebook messaging, causing me to get on a lot more than thirty minutes a day. I will try again soon.

I am going to do some revisions in the next few days, both of list items and my rules.
